Willow is the wood of unity, traditionally used to celebrate a 9th year anniversary. All of my willow is 100% salvaged from local fallen trees, and hand cut, milled and carved by me personally. This segmented pen features nine pieces of willow to symbolize nine years of marriage. Although there are many different tones and colors in this pen, they are indeed all willow wood. Yes ***Finish Details*** Gloss Smooth – The crystal-clear gloss finish holds several distinct advantages over the satin finish. It is much more durable, and will never need refinishing. It provides a clearer, better lens for light-colored woods and layered woods of contrasting colors. For intricate designs with inlay or small pieces, the gloss coating acts as a barrier to prevent small parts from separating. The “smooth” option guarantees an ultra smooth finish, achieved by a two-stage finishing process with cyanoacrylate, sanded to 12,000 grit, then waxed and polished. NOTE: the grain pattern of your one-of-a-kind pen(s) may vary from those pictured above.
