Wooden Toy Hatchet in Maple and Black Cherry Woods

Made from Northeast Ohio Kiln-Dried Maple for the handle and a Black Cherry head, everything on these toy hatchets are shaped by hand and made one at a time in my garage woodshop. I ‘grind’ the shape of each axe head on a sanding machine so that each one resembles what would come come from a handmade blade from a blacksmith. You can see the facets in head of each Hatchet and they are all unique and will have their own unique shape. Even the handles are hand-hewn and each one is slightly different. Held together with no metal fasteners, just wood and glue, these will last and last but please do note these are made to be toys and not weapons. Each toy tomahawk / hatchet is approximately 12 inches in length and will vary slightly as each is handmade. I make each hatchet to be as realistic looking as possible and I do round off the sharp edges with sandpaper so that the grinding process doesn’t leave sharp edges. Each one is finished in mineral oil and branded with “Hand Crafted by C. Clark” after I finish.
